The different ways each week that First Baptist Church is doing life together exist for a distinct purpose: to equip followers of Jesus to love as they have been loved and to equip to make disciples as Jesus made disciples.
Here are some of those opportunities for people to be equipped:
Our small groups meet on Sunday mornings at 9:45. These “Sunday School” groups are challenged to become a “family of missionary servants living SENT together.” SENT is an acronym for Scripturing, Eating, and Neighboring Together. All of who we are trying to be together as a local church family is central to and compelled by the learning and the love experienced in these small groups. People involved therein are equipped and encouraged to be making disciples in their daily rhythms. This everyday disciple-making is the real story of First Baptist Church. Every second Thursday of the month, adults ages 55 and over gather together for lunch for some food and fellowship and encouragement during what is called the “JoyMakers Luncheon.” It starts at noon and lasts until around 1:15. You are more than welcome to join us anytime! Normally, folks bring a covered dish or dessert of some sort, but please come as a guest the first time and like family thereafter!!!
First Baptist Church has a long history and beautiful heritage of using music to engage people and equip them to know Christ and make Him known. From children’s choir options for ages four through sixth grade to youth choir to adult choir to hand bells for all ages to a mission service tour and more, there is sure to be an option for you to learn and grow and serve via music!
Every Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday night, there are engaging and equipping activities for children from birth through sixth grade. Among these are Children’s Choir on Wednesday nights at 6:30, as well as Mission Kids on Sunday nights at 5:30.
